The Creating a Transferable Business Workshop

The Growth and Transition workshop is designed to provide business owners with the information and tools needed to increase the value of their business in a determined manner that will assist with a future transition from the company.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Today’s marketplace of business growth and transfer opportunities.
    An overview and case studies of planning engagements that lead to successful outcomes.
  • A 6-step process to design and implement your plan, including:
    • Personal planning, including a Value Gap calculation
    • How and where you can increase the transferable value of your business today
    • Options that are available for future transition and how to manage the business today towards that future transition.
    • Who is needed on your planning team.
    • Executing your plan.

The presentation portion of the workshop will end at 10:00 a.m. sharp to assure that we stay on schedule.  However, an optional question and answer / discussion period will follow, allowing attendees to address their individual questions with the expert presenters.

Justin Stevens is a Vice President, Financial Advisor with Sage Rutty & Company. Joining Sage Rutty in 2009, Justin works developing behavioral based plans for individuals and business owners.  Financial strategies with a specific interest in business exit planning and risk management continue to be his focal point.  Beginning his career in the financial services industry in 2008, with Northwestern Mutual Life, he developed a specialized knowledge in risk management and insurance products.  He is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Finance. Justin spends his free time in a variety of activities that include soccer, biking, skiing and working out.  He stays active in the Rochester community through his involvement on the Board of Rochester Young Professionals and the Board of Trustees of the Rochester Public Library.  He is a resident of the City of Rochester

Peter O’Keefe began his career in financial services in 1980 with Trubee Collins & Co., Inc. During his 16 years with the firm he served in a variety of roles including General Partner and Secretary/Treasurer. He founded O’Keefe Shaw & Co., Inc. in 1996 and served as the firm’s President until joining Sage Rutty & Co., Inc. in 2009. Peter is a 1978 graduate of Canisius College with his Bachelor of Science in Finance. Peter’s Sage Rutty team focuses on providing comprehensive financial planning by partnering with individuals and their advisors in building behavioral based solutions that give their clients the optimal opportunity to reach their long term goals. Peter, his wife Renee Rombaut-O’Keefe, and their two children Renee Dallas and Daniel live in Greece.
