Perry was born and raised in Owensboro, Ky., and received his bachelor’s degree in financial planning from Western Kentucky University in December 2004. Perry wasted little time in starting his path to helping others plan their financial futures by sitting for his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM exam in March 2005. He joined the Payne Wealth Partners team in April 2005 and was notified of the accomplishment that he had passed his CFP® exam in July 2005.

Perry leads the Wealth Planning division at Payne Wealth Partners, which focuses on helping clients relate their wealth to what is and will be important in their lives. Perry specializes in helping business owners with their unique wealth planning challenges.  He also earned his CERTIFIED BUSINESS EXIT CONSULTANT ® designation through Pinnacle Equity Solutions and leads the business exit planning process with business owner clients.  (Click here to learn more)

Perry’s entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed has led him to become a shareholder at Payne Wealth Partners. For as long as he can remember, Perry has had a desire to be a business owner; now he has stock in a profession that combines his business acumen with his desire to assist others. Perry is one of five members of the firm’s Investment Committee, which must come to an agreement that a move is in the client’s best interest.

Perry said while his education and training have properly prepared him to handle the wealth planning and numbers-crunching side of his job, he has also become quite proficient in client relations — a big part of what Payne Wealth Partners is about. When talking about this quality, Perry said, “I still learn every day how to better serve our clients. In that regard, I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning.”

Perry continues to value his learning in the classroom. He completed Chartered Financial Consultant TM (ChFC) course work, which is a continuation of his CFP® education, in 2007 and in 2011 earned his M.B.A. at the University of Southern Indiana. He’s done very well in this field considering he initially went to college to become a dentist.

“I dreaded going to Chemistry class, but I looked forward all week to Economics. It made sense to switch my major to Financial Planning,” he said. “I’m happy about that decision every single day.”

Perry and his wife, Amanda are enjoying the journey as new parents of their daughter Emma (born January 10, 2013). Perry commented about being a new dad saying, “Everything outside of my professional career now centers around this miracle that God entrusted us with and I would have it no other way.  I am already wrapped around her finger!”
